Project Overview
With the new Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine on its way, the time has come for the abatement and demolition of the Old School of Medicine. 650,00 square-feet of building will be both demolished and abated over the coming years. Work on this project will include the removal of furniture and equipment, hazardous material abetment, building demolition and site restoration for a future courtyard.
Project Timeline
- Abatement began in October 2023 and is estimated to conclude in Spring of 2024
- Demolition will begin at the conclusion of Abatement in Spring 2024. The demolition is estimated to take six months.
- Following demolition, the site will be filled and graded.
- Parking lot construction will begin Fall/Winter 2024
